Scholar, Educator and Community Leader
Mufti Aasim Rashid is an Islamic scholar, educator, author, and community leader dedicated to Islamic education, spiritual development, and meaningful community service. His work combines traditional Islamic scholarship with practical guidance, helping Muslims understand and apply Islamic teachings in contemporary life.
Through his Bayanaat, teaching, publications, and educational initiatives, he promotes sound knowledge, spiritual growth, and strong character while serving communities across Canada and beyond.
Educational Journey
A Journey of Scholarship, Teaching & Service
From his early Islamic studies in Canada to teaching, institutional leadership and educational initiatives, Mufti Aasim Rashid’s journey has centered on scholarship, education and service to Muslim communities.
Began his Islamic studies at Jāmi'a al-'Ulum al-Islāmiyya in Ajax, followed by further studies at Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin Dabhel and Darul Uloom Dewsbury.
Following graduation, he taught different levels of the Dars Niẓāmī curriculum, including major works of fiqh, tafsīr and hadith at Jaamiah Ajax.
He later served as Imam of a major Islamic centre in Montreal while continuing to teach hadith at Jaamiah Ajax as a visiting professor.
During this period, he laid the foundation for Al-Ihsan Educational Foundation, developing seminary and educational programs for students at different levels.
He served as Director of Religion and Islamic Education for the B.C. Muslim Association, working within its network of mosques and schools in Canada.
He launched Islam Unravelled through Al-Ihsan as an educational outreach initiative helping organizations and communities better understand Islam and Muslims.
His educational work took him to Australia, where he completed, tested and refined Ihsan Quest, a model developed for Islamic education in Western contexts.
His continuing work includes teaching hadith, tafsīr and advanced fiqh, alongside lectures, seminars, educational programs and guidance on contemporary issues.
